Defend Against Viral Diseases—Including Zika

zikaMuch of the tropical world is being attacked by insect- and otherwise-transmitted diseases.  This includes diseases like Ebola, chikungunya, dengue fever, West Nile, and leishmaniasis (A disease from a parasite carried by sandflies that is showing up more in America.).  Significant fear is now in the American medical community for the surge of cases reported without significant available treatment and prevention. Per the CDC, Zika is now considered a level 2 threat (practice enhanced protection and some are calling it a full blown infection with transmission by mosquitos and sexual activity) in Puerto Rico. The US Congress is so concerned that it recently approved a $1.1 billion Zika funding bill.  With the struggle to find immediate effective prevention and treatment, the nutraceutical Metadichol® may provide a solution.

Metadichol®, a nanoemulsion of policosanol has been found to be effective in vitro of eliminating the infections from cells.  It has also been found effective in two case studies of patients with dengue fever.  Policosanol is long chain lipid alcohols found in many foods like rice, sugar cane, wheat, and peanuts.  The reason that Metadichol® is so effective is because it is better absorbed as the nanoemulsion.

With the favorable findings for other tropical diseases, Metadichol® was tested against the Zika virus with very positive results. Link here for published paper in Journal for Immunological Techniques in Infectious Disease:  In vitro Inhibition of Zika Virus by Metadichol®, A Novel Nano Emulsion Lipid   From the abstract: “Conclusion: Metadichol® is a safe and effective inhibitor for enveloped viruses in humans. Since it is known to bind to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), its action mechanism likely involves the competitive displacement of virus particles from VDR’s on host cell membranes. Metabolism studies of long chain alcohol in fibroblasts suggest that very long chain fatty alcohols, fatty aldehydes, and fatty acids are reversibly interconverted in a fatty alcohol cycle [3]. Metadichol consists of natural components of common foods (classified as GRAS), Metadichol has no known negative side effects. The inhibition of Zika virus by Metadichol® is not surprising, given that we have recently published the results of Metadichol® which showed broad-spectrum antiviral activity against Dengue, Ebola, H1N1, SARS, Chikungunya and other enveloped viruses. (4)

Discoverer of Metadichol®, Dr. P. R. Raghavan, believes that Metadichol® could be used as a preventive for the many diseases.  He states in his conclusion at the end of the paper: Metadichol® could serve as a preventive agent for Zika given that it strengthens the innate immunity through VDR binding, and represent the first key step in preventing diseases. Metadichol® is ready for large scale testing in areas which are ravaged by viruses. Once proven on large populations, Metadichol® could be used as a preventive nutritional supplement in countries where viral fevers are widely prevalent. Metadichol is being sold as a nutritional supplement in a few Asian countries for the last two years and is extremely well tolerated. So far, there have been no reports of any adverse side effects.”

In discussions with Dr. Raghavan, Metadichol, through binding to nuclear receptors, allows the physiology of the human body to act at its highest level.  This is especially true of the immune system.  I believe that we are headed to a new and ancient understanding of how food is critical to health.  It is interesting in how the lipid alcohols act along vitamin D pathways.  It is well established how infections tend to block the action of the VDR.  With Metadichol allowing the body to operate at its optimum, it is even more critical that we have the nutrients necessary to raise our immune system.  The short list is Vitamin D, Vitamin A, vitamin C, Vitamin E, zinc, and magnesium.

It is now time to stop the insane madness of trying to create only synthetic drugs with the many destructive side effects to treat disease. The medical community should look to nutrition first through food and supplementation for the treatment of chronic and infectious disease.

Diabetes Solution – Metadichol

Sym DiabeticA novel approach to solving the issues of diabetes shows Metadichol to be a winner.  Dr. PR Raghavan had originally published a paper for a case study for type 1 diabetes, Case Report of Type 1 Diabetes. Journal of the Science of Healing Outcomes: 2010; Vol 2(8/9):24. After five years and ending treatment the patient is still producing insulin.

He is now to publish in the Science of Healing Outcomes in July a case report for type 2 diabetes.  Metadichol and Type 2 Diabetes Case Report (Metadichol Type2 Diabetes). From the introduction: “Globally, it is estimated that 366 million people had diabetes in 2011 (5). The number of people with type 2 diabetes is rapidly increasing in every country and in some low to middle income countries, up to 80% of people have diabetes.”  This disease ravishes the body and ultimately causes death from organ failure.  It is a disease of poor eating habits: “Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disease that can be prevented through lifestyle modification, diet control, and control of overweight and obesity. Education of the populace is still the key to control this emerging epidemic.”

Figure 8The results from the case study are amazing as the person was on no other meds, having chosen to use only Metadichol.  The figure 8 graph from the study shows a clear reduction in glucose as tested during various times throughout the day. The patient’s HbA1C was reduced from 9.8 at baseline to 6.2 at day 84.

Is Metadichol going to work for diabetics?  This is yet to be determined. This study of one person may have had significant changes in glucose because the person changed their eating and exercise habits.  Eating habits are not reported and do have a significant impact on type 2 diabetes.  However, the case study that was first reported for type 1 warrants a significant clinical trial to determine the efficacy for Metadichol for treating diabetes. Since policosanol (the primary component of Metadichol) is a food substance, this trial could be safely carried out on large populations with people that are willing to log their eating habits during the trial.

As reported in other articles on Metadichol, Dr. Raghavan believes that the effectiveness is from how nano-policosanol acts on the vitamin D receptor (VDR).  It appears to act as both an agonist and an inverse agonist which is very unusual.  In addition, Metadichol acts on many genes and other nuclear receptors as reported by Dr. Raghavan.  Will the medical community embrace a food substance for treating disease—all, yet to be determined?  – Pandemic Survivor

Inhibition of Deadly Viruses by a Food Substance

New research shows that an effective antiviral can be made from a food substance.  Policosanol made into a nanoemulsion has the possibility of becoming a significant tool to inhibit the spread of some very serious viruses that include: Ebola, Dengue Fever, H1N1, and SARS.  Published in the April 2016 edition of the Journal of the Science of Healing Outcomes is the paper, “Inhibition of Dengue and Other Enveloped Viruses by Metadichol®, a Novel Nano Emulsion Lipid,” by P. R. Raghavan, PhD. (dengue-paper – AUTHORS PRE PRINT COPY)

In this paper the author shows case studies of dengue fever recovery of a female 34 and a male 35 in just a few days without any drugs. Also shown in the paper are positive results of in vitro testing for dengue fever as well as many other viruses.  It is the hope that Metadichol® acts toward the other viruses as it has toward dengue fever.  Imagine the less fear that would have been developed during the recent outbreak of Ebola. About 40% of the world’s population is exposed to dengue viral infections with 50 to 100 million infections each year and 22,000 deaths.

Even more important to the average person is the hope that Nano-policosanol is an effective antiviral toward the flu.  Imagine the impact if we could recover very swiftly from the flu with an antiviral that is very effective without side effects.  The very important highlight of policosanol is that it is nontoxic to the human body.  We consume policosanol every day in our foods.  The Nano-emulsion version is easier to absorb and become effective in our immune response. Unfortunately, the part of the plants where policosanol is concentrated is usually thrown away as waste.  Have we lost the avenue toward better immune systems by not chewing the husks from food?

There are over 1,400 pathogens identified to cause disease in humans. There are many more mutating to adjust to an-every changing environment.  How many times in the past year have you heard someone say our use of antibiotics is creating new dangerous bacteria or the vaccine is only 40% effective against this year’s flu?  This is to say nothing to the damage that antibiotics and vaccines may be doing to our microbiota which represents over 100 trillion cells in the human body or ten times human cells.  The use of food with its vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and genetic expressing processes is a natural way of boasting the immune system that has evolved over the ages with our environment.  This may be the answer in our ever persistent battle against pathogens.  We cannot create enough vaccines or anti-pathogen formulas to handle the constant surge of pathogens.

In conversations with the author, Dr. P. R. Raghavan, it was interesting to learn that the finding for the use of Metadichol® against viruses arose out of the use as a supplement. “Chinese and Indians have used herbs and foods to treat illnesses for hundreds of years. My experience in years of developing toxic drugs that do not work, forced me to look for a better alternative. Knowing the importance of vitamin D on human health has ultimately led me to the invention of Policosanol Nanoparticles.” Metadichol® can act along vitamin D pathways and help to restore proper immune health. He continues, “this is not surprising given that policosanol can be considered an open chain form of vitamin D. Policosanol’s main ingredient is Octacosanol which has 28 carbon atoms and vitamin D3 also has 27 Carbon atoms and both are long chain alcohols.”

Potato Skin

Dried Potato Skins

Metadichol has been shown to be effective for many biomarkers (US patents 8,722,093 and 9,006,292) in the nanoemulsion form, and for viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites as well. Dr. Raghavan states that he has some very interesting in vitro results for all of these pathogens. He also states that it is very effective in wound healing. “This is not surprising given the fact that dried potato skin was used for skin healing in India. It turns out that potato skin is a good source of the ingredients of Metadichol. In addition, Metadichol also works against Malaria, a parasite, and bacteria like MRSA (see US patent 9,006,292). Recently completed work also has shown that Metadichol inhibits in vitro T-Brucei, a parasite that causes sleeping sickness, T-Cruzi that causes Chagas disease, and Leishmania, a parasite carried by sand flies that leads to Leishmaniosis with symptoms of ulcers of the skin, mouth, nose, etc. All these parasites affect many developed countries in the tropics.  Metadichol® is the only one known in vitro to be active against bacteria, parasites and viruses. This allows researchers for the first time a simple solution that is ready to be tested and deployed world wide to prevent these viruses, bacteria and parasites that affect a large swath of humanity.”

You will have to forgive me, but this reminds me of the explorer movies of the jungle and suddenly there is an illness or injury. The medicine man chews up some leaves and spits it into a poultice.  The person with the illness is healed in just a day or so.  Great stuff for the movies, but there must have been some basis for the fiction. Maybe we have arrived at a time when nutraceuticals are more effective that drugs.

Nano Policosanol Study Shows Increased Vitamin D

Recently a clinical trial was started with 32 patients with many medical issues. P. R. Raghavan, Ph.D. has provided me with some of the initial results of the trail after thirty days.  There are sixty markers for health being used in the study.  The patients are being given 5 mg of per day of Metadichol (nano policosanol) and the markers being tested periodically.

The very interesting thing is that the vitamin D levels (25(OH)D) of the patients have improved by 38.2%.  The baseline for the trial was an average of 12.75 ng/ml.  After thirty days, the average of the group increased to 17.77 ng/ml.  The following graph shows the results of 31 patients with one of the patients left out as there was no change in vitamin D. This gives the result of an increase for 31 patients at 39.4%.  There was no supplementation of vitamin D or increased exposure to sunshine to account for this increase.

PastedGraphic-1

In Dr. Raghavan’s findings for Metadichol, he has shown through nuclear receptor studies that Metadichol can act as an agonist, antagonist, and as an inverse agonist for the vitamin D receptor.  In conversations with Dr. Raghavan, he believes that Metadichol acts in place of vitamin D or as a helper to make the action of vitamin D more effective.  He states that the vitamin D receptor is like the conductor of an orchestra to allow other nuclear receptors to properly react for health. I asked him how the nano policosanol knows how to control the receptors.  He states that he believes it is through the communication of the genes in food with the human genome.

The details of the complexity of nano policosanol interaction with the human genome is yet to be completely determined.  However, many thousands have taken Metadichol as a supplement in Asia for over a year with only positive results of health being reported.  Policosanol is the waxy aliphatic alcohol that is found on the sun exposed portion of many plants.  The Cubans have found in studies that policosanol is very effective in reducing total cholesterol and triglycerides and increasing HDL, the more desirable form of cholesterol for health.  In addition, Dr. Raghavan has shown that Metadichol affects many of the markers for health which include blood sugar and insulin response.  We will know more when the trial is completed.  The Chinese have allowed the product to be marketed as boosting the immune system. It is particularly effective for wound healing and Dr. Raghavan also plans to show how Metadichol affects metabolic age.

Metadichol in Southeast Asia

A video of people using Metadichol as brand name Polilex has been posted to you tube by Polilex. This is a very remarkable video. Typically what you see in videos is young people talking about how wonderful things are. In this video, it is mostly old people that are suffering from an array of chronic diseases.

It is amazing to think that something as simple as an emulsion of the waxy substance found on most plants leaves can have such effects. As we move forward in our understanding of nutrients from food, I believe there will be amazing results. How modern foods are processed is of extreme importance to our health.

The video is high quality but the English subtitles are sometimes hard to read.

Update on My Experience with Metadichol

Metadichol is a supplement that is policosanol in a nano form. This nanoemulsion allows for better absorption of the policosanol so that it can act properly. When properly absorbed, it appears to work significantly in the body for health.

Earlier I described how when I first got the samples from Dr. P R Raghavan the discoverer, my wife had just come down with shingles. It was amazing as the pain went away after only twenty four hours.

I had reported earlier how much my fourteen year old dog has improved. Sophie is now jumping up on the coach again. An act she had not been able to do before the use of Metadichol. She also continues to get much more playful. I never thought we would ever see her act like a puppy again.

I decided to give one of the samples to my brother. Here was a case of abuse by the medical profession of improperly giving my brother testosterone. After several years of use, he started showing many side effects from use of this steroid. The worst physical appearance was loss of blood flow to his legs. They looked like the legs of a long term diabetic. He had developed dark blue spider veins in his legs and significant swelling. After a month of using Metadichol, his legs and toes went from blue to pink. The blood had started to flow properly again and the swelling is gone. He reports a significant improvement in health since he started to use Metadichol. It will be interesting to see how much improvement he will have. It is amazing as the testosterone commercials drone-on on TV.

My sister is about eighty. She has had much compliant of knee pain. It was keeping her from sleeping. I gave her a sample of the gel. She reported that the pain was reduced enough the first night to allow her to sleep. She also reported that the pain was completely gone in about three days. She is also a type II diabetic and now wants to try with the liquid to see if there is a reduction in her fasting blood sugar.

I have a friend that I gave a sample of the gel after he had surgery on his chin. He has reported that the scar on his chin has almost completely gone after a month of usage. This has amazed even the doctor.

My sister-in-law was given a sample of the gel. She reported that a rash on her arm went away in just a few weeks. She has suffered this rash for years.

I gave a friend a sample after she complained of constant nose congestion. She was told by her  doctor that she was a carrier for MRSA in her nose.  She has reported now that her nose has been clear for the first time in years.

I cannot tell any more improvement in my own health. However, I did take my blood pressure last night and it was 115/70. I don’t ever recall my blood pressure being at this level. It usually runs toward pre-hypertension. It is amazing that Metadichol works along so many different pathways. – Pandemic Survivor

Extend Your Dog’s Life

sophieOur dog ages and we know the inevitable outcome. It is a trip to the vet and a long sad time after the dog has passed. However, it may be possible to extend the life of your dog. Our dog Sophie, 13, had a really tough time in the spring of 2014. It began with a urinary tract infection and resulting liver and kidney issues. After increasing the amount of vitamin D, sulfate as MSM, NAC, and changing the type of food she recovered. However, she was not the playful dog that we had known. In late November, we begin to supplement her diet with two sprays of Metadichol on her food. She has now returned to her old self and has become very playful. Also, as I have described in an earlier post, her lipomas are shrinking.

Last article, we reported the findings of Dr. Joe Marasco and his experience of Metadichol with his family. Now , here are his comments about experiences with his dogs and Metadichol. Read my other articles on Metadichol by selecting that category. – Pandemic Survivor

 One Dog’s Surprising Turnaround

6/25/12

My wife and I adopted our son’s dog named “Miles” about 6 months ago in January 2012, as our son was moving into an apartment that had a dog restriction. Miles is about 9 years old, and is a beagle and corgi mixed breed, 30 lbs., and a very mild mannered, non-aggressive and loving dog. His tests for Lyme disease have been negative. We treat our dogs as family members, and want to make sure that they have a safe and comfortable life in our household.

Miles had what appeared to be arthritis in one of his hind legs, and would get around by hobbling on his other three legs about 75% of the time, but the condition appeared to be worsening. His other hind leg was also giving him problems. He did not run. Upon taking him in, we thought his health would steadily go downhill to the point where he would need to be euthanized. We were expecting to have to proceed with that unpleasant event within a year.

I started giving Miles two small doses per week of Metadichol about two months ago. The doses were about one-fourth of a teaspoon of your liquid formulation, mixed in his normal food. There was no hesitation on his part to eat the dosed food, thereby suggesting that he was not able to detect any adverse odor or flavor.

Almost immediately, Miles’ activity level picked up. Where five months ago he would not be able to take a walk on a leash outside, he now actively is walking, running, and jumping. He now greets me by standing up on his back legs! He looks forward to daily walks.

I was told by his vet at a recent checkup in June 2012 that, exact quote: “there is nothing currently wrong with his joints.” When playing with other dogs outdoors (we have four dogs), he is able to run and keep up with the fastest.

This is a startling turnaround in his behavior, and friends and family who know Miles are stunned by his transformation. Only a few months ago was a dog that had to slowly limp to his water bowl is now outside chasing squirrels like a hound, and outrunning his younger peers. If nothing else, your product has given a new lease on an active life for Miles.

Taz

9/26/13
TazTazzy is a 14 year old Pomeranian with the kindest and most expressive disposition out of any of the many dogs we have raised. People say that he should be brought to nursing homes to snuggle and cheer up the residents that have little outside contact with the world. This photo is of Taz just as he was starting to become ill. It’s worth taking a close look at the expression in his eyes.

Taz’s kidneys had started to fail. We found this out after noticing that his behavior had changed from the frisky, bouncy, perpetually-moving, little ball of fur to a depressed and constantly tired shell of the dog he once was. This change happened over a one month time frame. Taz was brought to the vet for blood tests, which then confirmed the beginning of kidney failure. This was a death sentence, which we had sadly seen with a couple of our dogs in the past. The only realistic path forward leads to euthanasia. Usually the dogs with failing kidneys begin to sleep much more than usual, and lose any liveliness they usually have. They appear to be in constant discomfort, and begin to refuse to eat. Taz showed all of these symptoms in the matter of a few weeks, and lost so much weight (almost two pounds off of an eight pound dog!) that his ribs became prominent and were easily felt even under all of that fur. At the rate of this decline, it looked like that final trip to the animal hospital would be upon him within the next month.

With knowledge of the human responses seen with patients that had been treated with Metadichol, Taz was given a daily dose of about 3 mg in solution, sprayed onto his food each morning. On the third day after treatment started, a miracle in the making became apparent. His tail wagged again for the first time in weeks. He ran again for the first time in weeks. After one week of treatment, he began to act hungry once again and his food consumption doubled. Now, after 4 weeks of treatment, he is acting normal once again, is hungry like he should be, and runs and plays with the other 3 dogs, his “cousins,” that live in the same home with him. More blood tests will follow and we will compare the data.

If nothing else, with or without test data, it became obvious just after the third day of treatment that this tiny, gentle and loving dog was actually behaving like he felt better. Much better. Just this effect alone is incredible. I bet Taz would agree. You can see it in his once again wagging little tail. –Joseph M. Marasco, Ph.D.

Experience of Using Metadichol for Years

Given that we have become somewhat leery of peered reviewed research papers, especially in the length of time it takes to get the information public, the experience of users may be our best source. Dr. P.R. Raghavan, the discoverer of Metadichol, a patented nutraceutical, gave me introduction to his friend, Dr. Joe Marasco, that has been using Metadichol the longest other than Dr. Raghavan. This first article is about the experience with his family. The next will be about his experience with his pets. The comments are in his words with only few editorial changes. The healing outcomes of Metadichol are amazing. Through word of mouth, this product has the potential to change the health of the world. From Dr. Joe Marasco:

Dr. Raghavan kindly sent me a prototype sample of Metadichol.  I ingested the sample around 6:00 pm that evening, and then commenced to write a report for work, which I expected to have completed in about an hour.  Well, I did finish that report, and went on to another report.  When I looked up from the keyboard, it was morning.  I had worked through the night without realizing it, and actually felt absolutely fine.  I showered, dressed, and headed back to the office for a full day of work again.  It was a feeling of increased baseline energy, not a nervous caffeine or sugar induced temporary rush.  I called Raghu that morning and asked what the heck he had put in that sample!  From that day, I have been hooked on the potential of Metadichol. As a biochemist, although understanding its mechanism of action, I had underestimated its actual effects.

About eight years ago, my father underwent a drastic 14-hour surgery in an attempt to remove as many tumors as possible after being diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer.  Multiple tumors were removed from several areas of his body, however I was told by the surgeon after the grueling operation that dad had about another three months to live, but with chemo it could be stretched to an unpleasant six months.   He refused chemo, and was basically chair-bound with two ostomy tubes protruding from his back.  However, he lived several more years.  During that time, Dr. Raghavan very kindly sent him some Metadichol.  I would visit my father every other month, as I was living in China at the time.   After a couple of weeks using it, my mother who had been constantly caring for dad called me in China and mentioned that she could not believe the change in his mood and energy level.  From being chair-bound most of his waking hours, he was now outside raking leaves around the yard daily, and actually going for walks at the mall.  When I visited him next, I also could not believe the positive change in his mood.  This alone is a huge benefit to a cancer victim.  Once sullen with chronic pain and discomfort, he was now smiling and laughing easily, and one would have a hard time believing that he was at death’s door not long before.  My mother related to me a stunning comment from his primary physician at the time: they “cannot understand why his several tumors have not progressed.”

Dad continued to take Metadichol daily, until a nurse (who was a relative) found out about it, and ordered him–more like frightened him–into stopping treatment.  Dad died of kidney failure several months afterwards.  (This makes me sad because of the lack of understanding of medical professionals. I have had similar experiences with friends and family in health care facilities -P.S.)

Raghu,

“IT WORKS!!!” screamed my wife….

My wife woke up and shouted for me when I was in the kitchen having coffee and she was up in the bedroom. I thought something was wrong, so I ran up. She had an intense tone to her voice, and she said, “my face is ‘different.’”   She had been using your Metadichol gel for two consecutive nights. “The small bumps on my skin …are just gone! I don’t know what happened, but tell Raghu I want him to stay in business for a lifetime.”

Raghu,

Some recent observations regarding the use of Metadichol gel:

  1. Used on my 18-month old rotator cuff shoulder injury. Normal state was a steady-state of chronic pain, worsening to the point where it was challenging to pick up a coffee cup (this coming from a prior background of >30 years of routine daily exercise including weight training, which I had to cease after the injury). Pain seemed to decrease perhaps 10-20% after three weeks of nightly application on affected area of shoulder, and application continued. Several months later, the pain is now minimal.
  2. My wife, an active woman of 57, developed plantar fasciitis, where the heel of her right foot was very painful to walk on, and she had to cancel attending her normal bi-weekly Jazzercize® class after 25 years due to the pain. Nightly application of the gel on her heel has given noticeable relief from the pain, and the difference after the first night’s application was striking.  She resumed the class after 3 weeks of Metadichol gel treatment.
  3. Also now treating my own severe plantar faciitis daily in both feet with Metadichol gel with very good effect. In my own experience, the initial reduction of pain was not as striking as my wife’s, but now after two weeks the pain has subsided noticeably (estimate 50% decrease in discomfort and continues to improve).
  4. My wife has been using the gel on her face for over 2 weeks, and has noticed a rapid definite improvement in skin tone and smoothness, and is now applying the gel to other areas of her body such as neckline and arms.

So, as you might suspect, Dr. Marasco is a huge proponent of Metadichol.  Thank you for reading through his comments. I will post his comments on his experiences with his pets later. He dearly loves his dogs and treats them as member of his family. His comments of his human experience are truly amazing! – Pandemic Survivor

New Nutraceutical, Metadichol® – Breathtaking Results!

“One good nutraceutical can wipe out the drugs.” Dr. Stephen De Felice

As a regular reader, you have seen several post of the new form of policosanol as a small droplet emulsion, brand name, Metadichol®. (Historic Breakthrough in Health – A Natural Alternative to Vitamin D) This natural substance appears to present a new model for how healing should occur in the body. As a natural substance formed on sun splashed portions of plants, it appears to act in the body very similar to vitamin D. This is a claim in the one of the many patents covering Metadichol®. As you know, you cannot patent a natural substance; however, the novelty is the small droplet that easily absorbs into the body and blood stream where it can become active in cells.

Some of the claims in the patent for healing are as follows: malaria, acne, eczema, ganglion, lipoma, MRSA, wound healing, fungal infections, psoriasis, hair growth, wrinkles, kidney disease, regulates glucose, insulin resistance, Diabetes type 2, Cholesterol, improved lipid profiles, hypertension, kidney disease, heart disease, reduced protein oxidation or oxidative stress, TNF a – significant immune system function, and increases serum vitamin C.

This product has only been on the market since the last part of 2014 in Southeast Asia. The reports coming from that area are amazing in the variety and healing of many diseases. The amazing thing has been no side effects. Of course, since it can be found of most foods, there should be no side effects. This appears to fall into the first rule of medicine, do no harm. When I was first approach by the discoverer, I thought – yeah, yeah another nut found a way to make money. Now after two months, I am truly amazed at the results from my own experience.

My own experience was first the amazement that the pain from my wife’s shingles went away in just a couple of days. It is interesting to note that her primary care physician had identified the rash as shingles along the C3-C4 dermatome. My wife has experienced shingles before that went on for over six months. After four weeks, there was still some redness and my wife went to see a dermatologist who is a friend of the family (I may have instigated this visit because of my prior communication with the dermatologist about Metadichol®). The dermatologist said that it was not shingles, primarily because it had gone away so fast and the apparent appearance of the remaining rash. She described it as a rash of unknown origin. I suspect this type of healing is unfamiliar to the dermatologist.

As for myself, I had a hemorrhoid that shrank overnight after an application of Metadichol®. Also, I treated a wound that I had received from cutting wood. It healed very quickly without a scab formation which I found extremely interesting. After about four weeks of using Metadichol®, there were red formations on my arm and leg. They appeared to be like large pimples or a formation of a colony of bacteria that looked similar to the appearance of MRSA that I had five years ago. After a few days of treatment with the Metadichol®, the redness disappeared. I now wonder if these areas were not colonies of pathogens trying to escape from the action of the Metadichol®. Also, the lipomas are shrinking on our 13 year old dog. We simply spray a couple of sprays on her food every day. We tried to treat a lick granuloma on the dog’s leg. This appeared to work well for a couple of weeks, but the dog started to lick again and the inflammation still exists. We have not tried to increase the dose for the dog. Also intermittent treatment may be an issue as well.

The mechanisms for how the substance works is not truly understood. Dr. Raghavan, the discoverer believes that there is some form of communication that appears to give intelligence to the action of Metadichol®. He has tried the formulation with synthetic components of policosanol and it does not work. He believes that it may be plant and microbial DNA that gets extracted along with the policosanol. It would be interesting if the Metadichol® is also renewing the health of our microbiome and homeostasis is reached in the body through this symbiotic relationship. The consideration of how it may possibly work because of DNA that comes over is daunting when considering the amounts of GMO foods that we are now consuming.

There are to be publications about Metadichol® that will appear over the next several months. This will include information on how our genome reacts and treatment of some very serious diseases. It will be interesting the response of the medical and research communities. – Pandemic Survivor

Historic Breakthrough in Health – Nano Policosanol

“In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual.” – Galileo Galilei

Nature will typically provide at least two pathways or redundancy for anything that is critical to the survival of life. Consider that we have two arms, two kidneys, two eyes, two lungs, etc. If you want to get more technical consider there are two substances to allow homocysteine to go to methionine [trimethylglycine (TMG or Betaine) or the combination of folate with vitamin B12] for the methylation cycle for the expression of genes. The discovery is a substance that works along some of the pathways of vitamin D and enhances the action of nutrients and more.

The remarkable thing about the action of this form of policosanol, as described in the patent, is that it does not drive up serum calcium. This has always been the issue with simply giving the hormone form of vitamin D to patients. Imagine anything that can work on physiological systems of the body without side effects. This natural substance has been consumed forever. Could this be the gift for an extremely healthy life? Like vitamin D in animals, it is also produced by the sun on plants and in many of our foods. The issue has been the ability of the body to absorb it so that it can get to where it needs to be active.   The new discovery is the effectiveness of a small droplet sized emulsion of policosanol. Policosanol is found as a waxy aliphatic alcohol on the leaves of sugar cane and in the husk of many grains and in other plants as well.   This may be reason that diets like the unprocessed paleo diet are so effective.

In conversations with Dr. P.R. Raghavan, he describes the finding as nature’s way of providing a pathway to health for animals who cannot obtain their vitamin D from the sun. He states that his discovery came from observing rats. The first thing that rats do is to eat grass when experiencing long periods without any exposure to sun. Grass makes the waxy alcohol on its leaves. “Rice-field Rats primarily reside in cultivated areas such as rice paddies and grasslands. It [where they reside] is largely dependent on human rice fields and plantations. Rice field rats shelter in burrows in soil, under rocks, and in logs”. It now makes me wonder when I see a dog eat grass if they are trying to achieve health from policosanol. Animals will do whatever is necessary for survival. Dr. Raghavan has been vigorous in making this understanding.

Consider the elephant with its hard dermal layer. How does it get its vitamin D? Or is its health from eating the policosanol in all the plants that it consumes.   “Asian elephants eat a wide variety of plants including grasses, shrubs, bamboo etc. While more than 100 different species may be eaten, only about 10 to 25 foods are likely to make up more than 8% of the diet. The percentage of grasses versus browse eaten varies seasonally; the nutrient value of grass is greatest early in the wet season, while that of leafy browse is higher in the dry season. Elephants do show choice in feeding: foods eaten do not necessarily match foods available. Crops such as bananas, sugar cane and paddy (rice) are favoured.” The sugar cane and paddy rice are very high in policosanol. The serum concentration of 25(OH)D for elephants is low compared to what is considered healthy for animals at an average of 16 ng/ml.

From Dr. Raghavan’s Into to Metadichol: “In the late 1880’s Dutch physician, Christiaan Eijkman was sent to the East Indies(now Indonesia to investigate why beriberi was so widespread in the region. Eijkman observed that hens in his Jakarta laboratory suffered symptons of nerve disease (polyneuritis) that were strikingly similar to those for beriberi – including muscle weakness, nerve degeneration, and paralysis. He then began a series of experiments to try to find a culprit organism, which he assumed was the cause.

He showed that the hens contracted the beriberi like polyneuritis soon after their feed was changed to polished rice – that is, rice whose outer husk had been removed. He also proved that by adding rice bran (the parts removed in polishing) to the hens’ food, the disease could be cured. The outer Husk contains Metadichol (policosanol).” We should clarify here that beriberi is commonly thought to be caused by vitamin B1 (Thiamine) deficiency, but Dr. Raghavan believes that the lack of policosanol was also a cause.

Emulsions are liquid colloids of droplets that are typically less than one micron in size. If you think about homogenized milk, it has fat droplets that range from 300nm to 500nm (0.3 microns to 0.5 microns). There are many small sized droplet emulsions that we normally use. Think about sugar in water, soap in water, or a supplement like vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K, etc. in water. The droplet size of the patented emulsion of policosanol, Metadichol®, is about 50nm in size.   This allows for easy absorption through the gut wall or through dermal layers if used topically.

Think about the many pathways that are described by Anthony W. Norman for health in his paper:
The History of the Discovery of Vitamin D and Its Daughter Steroid Hormone
Norman A.W. Ann Nutr Metab 2012;61:199–206 (DOI:10.1159/000343104)
It is truly astonishing the possibilities for health through vitamin D pathways of the vitamin D receptor. Consider this diagram derived from this paper for immune response:

Story02

Let’s take mast cells as an example in an autoimmune response. The mast cells become over active causing significant inflammation. The Metadichol®, name given in the patent, binds to the mast cell VDR and calms it down. As a result, the inflammation that is being caused disappears. Dr. Raghavan says, “Based on our invitro and invivo data Metadichol ® behaves as an agonist for one receptor and an antagonist or neutral antagonist or inverse agonist for another receptor.” The many cells that are involved in an immune reaction and other physiologies with the VDR makes the possibilities for health unlimited.

Dr. Raghavan likes to describe the VDR super family of nuclear receptors and the action of Metadichol® as follows: “A simplified way of looking at it is that the Vitamin D receptor (VDR) present in chromosome 12 in each and every cell is the conductor of an orchestra and he/she, is not relaying to the orchestra the proper cues. This will impact the performance of other members of the orchestra. Metadichol by acting on VDR restores the conductor to peak performance and ensures that both the conductor and the orchestra will perform at their peak potential (read; disease free).”

We have been scared from the sun for the last fifty years. It is time to take advantage of the nature’s gift from the sun, vitamin D in animals and policosanol in plants. This is truly a wonderful and historic discovery in nutritional health. I believe that it is a discovery worthy of the Nobel Prize! – Pandemic Survivor
